Blue Rock’s Second Birthday Party
Special Event: Blue Rock’s Second Birthday Party
Saturday, March 15, 2008
What a day!! Artists, friends, and family joined forces for a day of food, fun, and incredible music!
The festivities kicked off with an interview by legendary analogue audio designer Rupert Neve. Mr. Neve told unforgettable stories and inspired us with his lifelong commitment to quality and over five decades of revolutionary sound design.
Ray Bonneville, who was with us for our Christmas show last December, filled the house with his smooth electric groove while guests enjoyed a nearly endless supply of Gringo Gourmet tamales and birthday cake. When Ray opened up the stage to anyone willing to play for us, artists such as Cliff Eberhardt, Amilia Spicer, Jimmy LaFave, and Sam Baker (enhanced by musicians Radoslav Lorkovic, Tim Lorsch, and John Inmon) began to wander onto the stage, providing us with wave after wave of fantastic music. Artists Kim Miller, Dylan Meek, and Mo McMorrow kept it flowing until long after quittin’ time.
Thanks to everyone who shared this amazing and beautiful day with us, especially the volunteers and artists! Enjoy these photos by Rodney Bursiel, Nathan Brown, and Terry Tammadge. See you next year!

The Birthday Open House at Blue Rock yesterday was wonderful. I felt so purely happy all afternoon, and I’ve had the same feeling at the Thursday evening concerts I’ve attended. Each time I visit, I am amazed at the vision you both had to create this extraordinary place, and I feel very fortunate to know about it. Thank you!
MC says:
Always inspiring to see you and Dodee and just take a deep breath at the wonders of Blue Rock – it’s like you have your own whiskey still in the hills cooking up an intoxicating brew – hard to resist !!

We had a wonderful time at the concert last Thursday. It was very special. It was unlike anything I’ve ever been to before.
Thanks for sharing Blue Rock with us!
Cliff Eberhardt says:
Leave it to the Crockett’s to host an incredible afternoon. I was so moved by your humility, your kindness and your generosity. There is an air of grace in the way you have created a community. The diversity amongst the attendees was vast, yet everyone felt comfortable. I believe that this world is in dire need of community, like what church used to be. And here in a little Texas town you two have given us all a beautiful gift.
Kim Miller says:
My gosh what a celebration. I had a wonderful time and I’m so honored to be a part of the musical family you have inspired at Blue Rock.
