Eliza Gilkyson
Studio Concert Series: Eliza Gilkyson
Thursday, January 11, 2007
Eliza’s songs simply hit bedrock. She came ready to make something happen. With her son Cisco Ryder on percussion and the legendary Mike Hardwick on guitar and dobro, the energy was on a slow burn all night.
They performed songs from Paradise Hotel and the Grammy-nominated Land of Milk and Honey. Highlights were “Tender Mercies,” “Think About You,” “Momma’s Got a Boyfriend,” “Separated,” and “Man of God,” sung almost as a lament. Unforgettable. Enjoy these photos by Nathan Brown.
Thank you to our excellent volunteers for helping us welcome this rare creative voice to Blue Rock.
