Jimmy LaFave

Studio Concert Series: Jimmy LaFave

Relentless!  Tune after tune Jimmy sang with pure soul. The guitar work from the band (John Inmon, Jeff May, and Andrew Hardin) was equally prolific.  These are remarkably nice guys also!  Enjoy these photos by Nathan Brown and Laura Harris.

Jimmy delivered originals, “River Road,” “Bohemian Cowboy Blues,” “Never is a Moment,” and a round of Dylan and Springsteen with a kind of slow motion urgency. Some said it was like hearing these songs for the very first time.

LaFave has appeared on National Public Radio’s Mountain Stage, has performed for Austin City Limits, and was invited to appear at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Tribute to Woody Guthrie.  The Austin Music Awards named Jimmy “Best Singer-Songwriter” two years in a row.

It was probably the most enjoyable evening we’ve spent since moving to Wimberley. We could not get over how wonderful Jimmy LaFave and his band were and how beautiful Blue Rock is. I’m torn between telling everyone I know and wanting to keep it a secret. (OK—I’ve already told everyone I know.)

What really stands out for me is the spirit of your creation. Thank you for choosing the Hill Country and blessing it with your vision.

Thank you for an exquisite evening.

Just wanted to say thanks for another amazing evening at Blue Rock. You two are doing such amazing things there. Jimmy was really wonderful—what an incredible voice!!
