Since we’ve seen Kate Campbell (last at Blue Rock with The New Agrarians in April ‘08), she has been busy touring all over Europe and the United States in support of her latest CD release, Save the Day. Critically acclaimed and lauded by peers the world over, Kate spins out intelligent songs and stories steeped in southern roots, and packing a rare emotional wallop. It is our privilege to welcome her back to Blue Rock, along with her band, to record two special evenings to be released on DVD.

Thank you for creating a fantastic venue for music. The trip from Houston was well worth the drive to see the beauty of the area and hear Kate.
It was a divine appointment for us!
Jerry says:
Thanks for suggesting that we see Kate Campbell’s performance. It was astounding !!!!
[We] have been coming to Blue Rock concerts for a couple of years now and after Kate’s concert we both agree that she was clearly the best of a long, distinguished line of musicians we’ve experienced there. Her music was refreshingly original and irresistibly toe-tappin’. Her band was definitely “in the groove” with her, a wonderful harmony. But there was something more there than the music. It took us half way home till we finally identified it ... Kate is a master storyteller of timeless human situations. The way she approaches the story subjects is a deft combination of reverence and humor that is sooooo refreshing in an age of such angry, hostile popular music.
No wonder half of the audience came from Alabama and Boston to hear her again. What a talent !!!

FANTASTIC CONCERT last night by Kate & friends. With angelic voice and devilish humor, I was mesmerized throughout a 2+ hr concert of songs I have heard before; the sign a a great songwriter. Several favorites but “Ten Thousand Lures” always grabs me; brings tears even. If you haven’t heard Kate yet, put it on your lists of MUST DO’s before we are all eating “Funeral Food” for you!
Carolyn Waters says:
I have been a long standing fan of Kate’s and knew I would be treated to a wonderful show but little did I know just how astounding it would be. The sets included all of my favorite pieces and were presented in a such a way that I felt that I was discovering Kate all over again. It was worth every mile I traveled from Boston, Ma to be there. Sing on Kate, sing on….
